Chemical landscape evolving in a glass tank, light, 37x28x5cm

The Présages series brings together aquatic landscapes chemically activated in glass tanks like hermetic little worlds cut off from our own. Worlds made out of minerals immersed in an aqueous solution, deploying a whole range of components and their multiple colours and shapes.

Their format is similar to that of painted or photographed landscapes, the difference being that the landscapes in the tanks evolve slowly and constantly. The rectangular tanks are placed against the walls of the exhibition; they cannot be moved without entailing their destruction.
